So i accidentally hit my rear view mirror while working in my car and it snapped off, the screw sheared and just the little block is attached to the windshield. I would like to replace the mirror, but can't with the black block in the way. Any tips on how to remove that, the adhesive is wicked strong?

Thanks everybody

Heat activates most adhesives... I am not suggesting though that you heat up just that spot of the windshield. Hot day, sharp - sharp blade.

I'm from the Midwest Andrew. I hear that! I said that to make sure that you don't use a heat gun or hair dryer to spot heat the outside of the window at that spot. I suspect you could cause a crack.
