I was given a 73 blower motor for my '70. they look very different. were there changes at all?

i need a defroster and a heater!!!

How different?
I thought they were the same, but with different mounting locations.

Don't know the changeover dates but an "early" blower fan is a 2 outlet fan mounted on the fan housing about in the middle and the "late" fan is a 1 outlet fan mounted under the relay board.

yes, the plugs are different. is there any way to convert the 70 to a 73 blower? or not even worth it. just fix my broken one?

does anybody know what the main problems are for a blower motor? i am assuming its the motor....

who has fixed one?

also, does the defroster use that same blower motor? just different paths in the cab?

The only 2 things I have found that goes bad with these old motors is the brushes, which I never found replacements for, it was easier to find a "new" (to me) motor than the brushes; and the "bearings" for the armature which would rust up or dry up.
