I came across a web site for Porsche mini's. As I looked around, I found the only 914 they had was a police car replica. I have never seen a photo of a 914 police car, but since they have the model, I assume it existed.

It looks like the #12 car has 904 fog lights on the front valence? They look round unlike 75/76 types.

Yes, those are cool. They were made by Minichamps which makes very good miniture cars from Germany. I saw one of them here in Japan which was in a limited edition pack of 4 Porsche cars (911,356,914 and I think 924) for sale but very expensive, almost the same price I could replace my clutch for on my real 914. Thanks for the link you provided, they sell the car separately and for under $80 dollars...but still a lot of money for a small collectible car but cool...I wish I had it to add to my measley collection

Real question here....HAS ANYONE MADE A REPLICA OF ONE?

beerchug.gif

It would be fun at car shows and 914 events.
nsr-jamie
I would like to see that!! It wouldn't be that hard say compared to making a 914 limo....somebody could even do it for Halloween.

IIRC, somebody posted photos on here of a 914 in Euro-Police paint that was created for an event... in the past year, but Search isn't helping me find it. I'll keep trying.

The No 12 dutch highway police car is owned by the owner of www.914parts.eu, he bought the 914-6 a while ago and it is being restored to old glory. He managed to trace it down to someone's barn and bought the complete car including the matching number 6 cylinder engine. It is in very bad shape though, but it will be restored to the original specs as in the picture.... very cool project...

That is the owner of the original police car, temorarily painted and fitted together for the show to show the public the car. That is the only car missing within the foundation that owns every dutch highway police car that were used in the old days, they also have a 911 targa police car....

Fire engines too... wink.gif

....seems like a great idea for WCC! Jeroen could conjure up a simple graphics package, and maybe even source a blue light from the nederland! Build a bracket that mounts the light to the ski rack holes under the targa bar!

Sounds like fun!!!!!

Early cars were 3-seaters. shades.gif

But an actual bench seat...no "seats". I thought the center seat was just a pad on the console.

I'd never seen or otherwise known the existence of 914 police and fire cars prior to this thread. Thanks to all who have contributed, I've learned from it.

IIRC, that was a prototype for a FIA 'Chase Car' to follow the pack of F1 and sportscar races through the first lap...

Those blue lights are available here in Japan...also red, yellow and green....people use them on their shops from Ramen noodles to gas stations to attract customers. If someone were seriously going to build a replica I would be glad to help get one.

My Dad used to give me rides in his 1971 914-6 along with my brother. I used to sit in the "middle" seat.

Hijack!

Can someone photograph a close up of this graphic? Does anyone know the community that this shield represents?

I'm thinking of a short term project for the white '70 914 4 that I bought from a world member. Something for display at the historics and maybe for WCR (work permitting).

Im going to tie this with another marketing effort that I'm working on.... so any help, leads or info on the hood graphic would be most helpful as I would like to make the graphics accurate.

thats the shield of Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW), a part of the German Republic

see the Wiki-article:
german: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordrhein-Westfalen
english: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Rhine-Westphalia

from my best knowledge, the Police from NRW bought 20 Porsche 914 cars back in the days
