Does the alternator pulley need to be spin balanced on a >6K engine? Is that a cause for reported belt being thrown? Where is a source for a new alternator pulley?

I'm sure any maching shop could check the run out and balance the fan/alt pulley assembly. Even on a 6k rpm motor, the balance is important to the longevity of the motor.
Even if you found a NOS pulley, I doubt it would be any better balanced than a good used one.
