Hot voltage regulator - normal???
Just had my car out today. Drove for about 30-40 minutes.
Noticed when I stepped on the gas, the engine would not cut out, but would kind of hesitate around 3k. Was running perfect yesterday and this morning. When I got it home, the volt reg. was quite hot. I wanted to ask you guys if thats normal. Car is a 75 2.0, pertronix ign., throttle switch is about 2 years old, rebuilt dist. from ottos about 1 year old. new wires, caps, rev limiting rotor, etc. new trigger points for fi,The aux air reg unit is a rebuilt one from AA which is maybe 3 years old. Could that be the culprit? shorting out maybe? Please help. I don't want to risk frying anything. MPS is good and computer is new.

Could someone please verify as to whether or not the VR is suppose to be hot after running a while?

Thanks
