Don't know if this is a national commercial, but around here I heard
a new one today talking about the evolution of go-karts for like
30 seconds, then the audacious part -- (paraphrasing) The Mini
is the only street legal go-kart.

Not that I have anything against them per se, but get real people!
The 914 is the true street legal go-kart (with few mods from
stock). The new Minis are at least 600 pounds heavier, front wheel
drive, , and info from a current owner says that they have
tried everything suspension-wise to get away from massive
understeer but the car always reacts the same.

155s on the rear should cure the understeer.

Well, all the the "go-karts" I've ever driven had an aircooled motor place right behind the driver's seat

I have not driven a new mini, but i did chase one up thru some nice twisties while in my C2 last week, damn thing impressed me and i know that part of the road pretty damn well............
