Getting to that time where I'll be installing the CD Box.

Here's the question for the pro's, assuming I have both and both are in good condition, which should I use? I was always under the assumption that the Bosch unit was better, I think that was a reference from one of Wayne Dempseys books.

I will tell you that the 2.7 runs smoother and starts better with a Permatune.

That said, I have a couple of Bosch Boxes too!

Permatune was OE to Porsche when Bosch couldn't get their act together.

The main problem (supposedly) is that the Permatunes are "potted" and cannot be repaired whereas the Bosch unit can be fixed (at an astounding price).

I'll do Permatune if I have one so I don't have to lift my pinky!

blue permatune from 1975 are reliable, all newer and 6 pins are not.

I read on another forum they used the blue permatunes 1975, so they could meet emissions,
That was a mechanics recollection, Maybe the cap'n knows for sure.

I remember seeing some where in Excellence's back ad pages that Permatune was gutting the stock Bosch unit and installing thier unit inside for the concourse people. I always liked the Permatune over the Bosch.
