Could be one of two problems;

1. Plunger on the inside of the handle is broken or
2. The handle broke on the outside where it attaches to the door!

It is an easy fix to replace the plunger but if it is the handle then you need to spend some money!

It sounds like you need a door latch cam,,,,

Wow it's 14.55 now!

You need to:
1) roll your window all the way up
2) take off the door panel
3) get a 4mm or 5mm allen wrench (I can't remember size) or allen-socket with long extension to loosen the bolt holding the front of your outer door handle to the door.
4) loosen the 10mm nut on the back side of the outer door handle that you can see when you open the door
5) replace the plastic cam and re-install

remove teh door latch mech from the door. soak it in solvent, blow it out and re-lube. they gum up and cause door handles to get over worked

Make sure to clean & re-lube everything.

I have a similar problem only my drivers side door won't open from the inside! Fortunately the door panels and everything are already apart while I've been tooling around in it waiting for interior pieces. Suggestions?

Also, when I place the door lock lever in the 'lock' position inside and then close the door, it forces it out a bit to the 'unlocked' position which requires me to lock it from the outside with the key? Is this just a case of being gummed up and requiring cleaning? :/

Your inside handle is broken, or has come unhooked from the bar.
The door handle on the drivers side needs to have the flap held out or the door will not lock. Passenger side is different.

Mark,

Got a link to the replacement cam for the door latch? I need to replace mine and your website doesnt seem to show it.

Also is your ignition switch OEM or repo? I bought a repo from PP and it crapped out on me.

Thanks for the information! I'll take a closer look at it & see what's what!
