DO these look correct? I added the spade connectors to ease re-install.

Speakers came from a variety of mfgrs. - usually matched to the radio installed, and then the speaker itself could be mfgrd. by a subcontractor.

For example, my 73 2L's AM/FM/8-Track was a VPC VW4412 mfgrd. by Motorola, so the speakers were part of the radio install kit supplied by Motorola.

Nobody will see the inside of the speaker boxes, so if they fit & work with your radio they should be okay. Just make sure to put some of that thin grey/black foam sheet between the grill & the speaker like they did from the factory, and I'd dust any brite metal bits facing the grills with flat black so they don't highlight through the foam sheet & grills, as so many new age speakers do.

Also FYI, there's a guy on evil-bay who has several of the NOS Motorola 914 speaker install kits FS for a pretty reasonable price, & I got one, but the speakers aren't as purdy as that one of yours!

Who listens to the radio? Wjy miss the gorgeous sounds from the rear?

Got my speaker kit from Crutchfield in October '72, as well as the Blaupunkt Frankfurt. Have a "special" antenna that I use on rare occasions to hear music - no hole drilled & it works perfectly. My little secret.

I agree on the engine sound - which makes listening to radio hard anyway - although some vintage Oldies playing can help set the mood!

Guess I wasn't clear enough. I bought my 914 with no radio or speakers. Bought a Frankfurt and speakers to fit the enclusures from Cruttchfield in late '72. No, I won't drill the hole. Yes, I can still get good reception with my "invented" antenna.

I understood Pat, I was just explaining what he was doing, and giving you a source for new hidden antennas like your " 'invented' antenna" - & to avoid drilling on a 914 without antenna holes already in it for others .
