Car back from wrench after new 350 installed. He's pissed, has closed his shop for 3 weeks (gory details follow in another post) so he is not available to answer.

Hope this works, and pardon the lousy pics..

Left rear tire has about 1.5" clearance from fender.left side

Right rear tire rubs. It did not before.

right 1

And another.
right 2

Nothing obvious underneath.

Ideas?

I suspect it is possible the entire engine and trans assembly is "off kilter"? Maybe something got bent in the V8 mount setup? unsure.gif

Even if it was, it should not affect the suspension.

Does it sit at the same height as before (same on both sides)? What does the wheel camber look like on each side?

Didn't this car have some material forward of the suspension ear removed? Check for jack/damage marks around the suspension mounting points.

look at the transmission mounts, both sides should be even or sym.

you might want to remove the wheels, maybe they put on the wrong size spacer when putting the car back together.
