Is there a correct way to remove the fan support on the engine shelf? Did you just cut it off and grind it down or is there a way to remove the whole thing? Is there spot welds I should be grinding on? I don't see any?

go easy so you do not leave a hoel,, that is all.

cut off bracket. drill spot welds on mounting flanges

If you don't need to save what you're taking off, it's better to grind the spot welds than to drill I've found drilling will inevitably go through the part it's welded to to some extent (or all the way), spot weld drill bit or not.
