haha made you look. So was looking throught past posts to so exectly how to bleed the air out. I found that the front of the car should be 18" higher then the front. Is this true? This seems really high. I got it up 13" (no viagra), so i'm going to try and bleed it.

Also in the instructions it says to take it for a drive. do you lift the front up again when you get back home to bleed it? or leave it down.

Who's cooling system are you using? If you have the Renegade expansion tank in the rear, or something similar to it, you can really just top the system as best you can and then cycle the car on and off. Hot to cold to hot to cold. On my V8 car, the air would purge itself eventually this way.

I had regular Chevy style radiator in front, and I just topped it off once and had a bleed valve at the top. The rest was done by cycling. No need to lift the car.

I've heard of some funky ways with big long hoses over the car and jacking the car up to bleed the air out of some Simpson setups (from a shop that was installing the Simpson setup and learned the technique directly from Rod). Needless to say, he went to the expansion tank like the one in the picture.

I was just bleeding my system today. I'm basically running it until hot and opening the vent valves on the Renegade Rad. Found the leak at my Dedenbear tank sight tube. It got brittle and cracked. Good idea but probably should be glass. Also installed the Renegade elbow so no more kinks! Are you bringing the V8 to WCC, Paul?

Everything is renegade except for the expantion tank and radiator.

Well i'll do it in the air one more time then take her for a ride after work tomorrow. (new job building a MINI race car)

i had the overheating issue 6 months ago and am now geting to it. I took out the heater and things are looking positive. Temp goes up much slower now so hopefully this was the problem.

That IS the tank Renegade sells, bought from Renegade. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I was running a Chebby style radiator. Rest of the system was old Simpson since I bought a used Simpson kit before I bought anything else. I think that expansion tank is one of the key's to the system. I was running the Simpson water pump and was going to swap it once it blew up... but it never blew up after some good canyon runs and half a dozen autox. The old Simpson pump seemed to do fine as long as the air was kept out of the system, and I think that expansion tank was the key to keeping it out.

If the overheating issue is worked out and i get the car insured in time then It will definitely be there. Can't wait to go.

How's the LED tail light project going. I found some .375" x 5" panels someone designed for another car. They are already printed and assembled and can be daisy chained.

A 350 that is bored .040 ove makes it a 357. 357 cu in = 5.8L. You know you are the first to ask this question.

The LED taillight are still in the development stage. There will be a working pair on my car at the WCC if the car makes it there. Right now they are not working correctly. I also made a different circuit to run the lights which I will be trying out soon.

I have a ? on your overflow bottle. The picture shows the hose connecting in high on the top. Is that expansion tank the kind that draws coolant back out of the overflow bottle when the system cools? If so the coolant level looks too low to allow it to do that... unless there is an internal tube in the bottle immersed under the coolant that doesn't show...?

Mike, I think you are just looking at the over flow line. If you look closely behind the tank in his picture, there is a larger black tube that shoots towards the overflow tank. That is the one that probably (should) go to the expansion/filler. The one you are looking at just keeps coolant from burping into the trunk.

The hose that is clearly seen is the overflow. There is another hose that is on the bottom of the bottle next to the shock tower and that one runs to the radiator cap. The overflow vents through holes in my trunk.
