in an attempt to get our own caravan going, there is a bit of confusion on the time for the WCC breakfast. (not for me, for them, sadly)
Anyway, the WCC site says it's a 9:14 Breakfast, but someone thinks the time has changed.
Bowlsby? Anyone?

be there to start registering by 8, leaving by 9:14. I think this is for registered participants though. Are you meeting up for the run down to Laguna, or are you joining us for breakfast as well?

is the 914world.com site just the best or what?
Sooooooooooo many nice people here.
Jenny,
Dan, Allen, Mueller & I are trying to figure out what time the breakfast starts, as
we are trying to coordinate a meeting time for the caravan. (someone else from Sac, don't remember whom).
YOU wrote: registering at 8, leave by 9.14.
Registration for the Breakfast? Sorry, none of the guys have their packets in front of them.
More specifics, please.
As for myself, I'm thinking of joining the caravan, and once it gets to the breakfast, continuing on to Laguna Seca.

This from the packet:
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE! Registration will occur from 7-8 AM at Fridays breakfast. Please arrive early to the breakfast checkin and meet others and help us stay on schedule. we have 121 peeps to check in and the Bfast will begin promptly at 8. Friday morning we need to leave by 9:14 AM to be at Lag Seca by lunchtime so bfast will be very brief.

registration/sign in for the WCC. We're getting our goodie bags and boxed lunches either before or after breakfast. And we'll chow down, and we'll break into smaller driving groups and head down to Laguna. These are the facts as I know them. But I don't have the packet infront of me either. I could be wrong.

Cool, thanks you two.
I did not realize everyone was going to Laguna Seca, as earlier I thought VegasRacer had said that he would be at Laguna on Friday, and that he'd get the WCC polo shirts to everyone later.

Yea, I'd like to know what time is "lunchtime at Laguna" since it doesn't look like I'll make it for breakfast. My plan B is drive Fri. AM directly to Laguna, if only I had an idea what ETA the organizers have. As I understand we are going from breakfast to Laguna to Twisty Tour.

I ran with Jeff and "the group" (wish I could remember everyone's names) this past weekend on their test run from Coyote Creek to Laguna-Seca via "twisty roads." (Wasn't she a porn star?) Anyways... the theory is that it will take a good 2 hours (or more) for all 70+ vehicles to make the trek. The roads are twisty (duh) and if driving the limit or 10MPH+ it will take awhile to herd all 70+ cars to Laguna.
At some points in our test run we were easily doing 30+ MPH over the limit
and it still took awhile with several "regroups" in order to keep everyone on track.
ETA at Laguna-Seca is ~11:30AM PDT if I remember correctly.
Tho' I can't do the WCC I hope to do a "drive-by" at the track.....

What is the fastest way to get there? 280, 880, or 680? I'm coming from Richmond/Berkeley. My inclination right now is to leave by 6am and go 680.

Fastest way is to get your ass to 101 ASAP. I live in Monterey and don't know too much about the Bay Area anymore (thank God.) I DO know that all the aforementioned highways are generally clogged in the AM. Once you're at highway 101 South in San Jose it's about 1 - 1.25 hours to Laguna-Seca via 101/68.

Schweggy, Thanks for the info! You answered both questions (I think).
The actress you are referring to is "Twisty Toes". Her audience is into mangled feet

Time is crucial at Laguna Seca. WCC is using another group's lunch period to take the pics and do the pace laps, so please don't doddle.

Directions to Coyote Creek Golf Club:
From San Francisco or San Jose Airport: Take 101 South to the Coyote Creek Golf Club Drive. (Next exit past Bernal Road). Turn right into the golf course. Approximately 60 Miles from San Francisco Airport; 12 miles from San Jose Airport.
From the Monterey Area: Take 101 North to Coyote Creek Golf Club Drive. Turn right and go under the freeway to the golf course entrance. Approximately 60 miles from Monterey.
From 280 (San Francisco): Take 280 South to 101 South. Exit at Coyote Creek Golf Club Drive. Turn right to golf course entrance.

Let me rephrase the question. Which is the least clogged freeway to 101? 680, 880, or 280?
I might be picking up a passenger along 680 anyway. Is there a commuter lane all the way down to 101?

280 is the best. But if you are coming from Berkeley, you'll have a heck of a time getting over to 280. So your best bet is 680. Much better than 880. Don't know if the carpool lane makes it all the way to 101, but there is a carpool lane for much of it.

They're all clogged but you should be ok up to 7:30AM on a Friday. I'd recommend 680 to 101.

The KTVU web site has an interesting traffic web page with "live" info. Shows speeds, accidents and such. May be useful for those nerdy enough to care....

Thats my vote too. 880 Southbound in the early mornings is not pretty. Friday things are a bit less congested though.
