Need some sage advice from fellow enthusiasts. . .I am trying to replace a defective temp sensor 2. I started backing it out and it's binding up about half way out. I don't want to force it and strip the threads out of the head. Any suggestions? It was installed about seven years ago with anti seize compound.

Thanks,

I had a similar problem with an oxygen sensor once (the threads that were inside the exhaust pipe got build-up on them and then wouldn't fit through the hole). What I ended up doing was a painstaking process of out as far as it would go, then tighten it again, with sprays of liquid wrench at each "out" attempt. Each time it would turn a couple degrees more, and after about 15 minutes of that it came out with only minor thread gnarfage. Good luck!
