I'm goofing around with the idea of making a flat-pack aluminum spoiler that the uprights will bolt in to the existing rear quarter panels bolts and fit between the trunk and quarter panels.

What I'm curious about is recommended angles of attack and overall height of the spoiler. My initial thoughts from poking around is 10" tall and at a 60 degree angle. Any input?

There is a decent thread in the paddock about this.

Jay "jjackson" has done a very nice spoiler and has pictures of his in there.

In there they claim 65% is the desired angle.

Just reading that thread. Nice! I want one I can pop on and off so I don't look like a tool. I'm working on a flat-pack AL one...

I have narrow bodied car and work at Caltech... I'd look like a tool! Plus my wife likes the car looking stock, so I'd get tons of shit from her too.

Well, you could always make something really cool and send me one biggrin.gif I'll be needing to do something like this soon as well. Need to read into the GP rules a little more to see what I am allowed but still.

I have seen JJ's up close and personal. It looks good and angle looks like other Prepared/Modified cars running SCCA. It is just a race car tho..and I don't want to ride around town with it on either!!

That idea has crossed my mind to recently. The AX course needs to be pretty fast IIRC to justify? That works well out west and at Nat SCCA events. I dont get to much of that local...frown

My latest thoughts are Splitter...It looks like that is an idea that has caught on at the Nat level. That would be possibly easier to remove.

I just picked up 2 seconds, Aaron. I bought a new set of Hoosier A6's!!

Good Luck

Ha! I'm trying the Hankook Ventus Z214 C71 this time around. First time on new race rubber!

The El Toro courses in Irvine with PCA are ridiculously big and fast...

AX aero appendages do look absurd....unless you understand their usage. The low speeds force guys to make them out sized to have any effect. confused24.gif

That said, they aren't any goofier that some of the fart pipe Hondas running around. av-943.gif
