My concern lies in the fact that this cell is in front of the front wheels, seems very succeptible (sp?) in ANY front end crash.
Will any sanctioning bodies allow this?

Yes, I see lotsof 914s running with the fuel cell in that location.

Id rather have a fuel cell in the stock location.

That's exactly where my SCCA ITB 914-4 fuel cell was. Also my HSR/PCA 914-6 has the cell in the same location. It's never been an issue.

Well fuel-cells are supposed to have a safety-bladder (sp?) so it shouldn't be an issue...

That location is fine. If you have the dough send your tank out to ATL and have it converted to a "cell". They will cut the top off and insert a bladder and new fill assembly.
