I like both projects. I'm worried about the TV legs once you fill it with 200-300 pounds of water. You may want to beef them up.

Got it finished and filled, will get fish to day what do you think?

GULP.....I'm worried too.

I do think it is kick ass and would very cool to see in person! Nice projects and it looks like you should quit loaning sockets to friends. They never return them.

I don't think you need to worry about the legs. That picturetube was probably pretty close to the weight of the water you are replacing it with. Very cool...

That looks great! Do you keep a lot of fish? How many gallons did you wind up with?

Sorry I was tied up moving for work last month. To answer your questions I tested the legs at about 400lbs, myslef and one more large guy standing on them, no stress so they are good. It did swivel as a tv, the swivel was removed and how the legs attached braced.

The tank is 24L x 12w x 18D, not sure how many gallons.

As I am away for work the better half was left in charge of stocking the tank. Typical for a women she had a hard time picking.

To date she has two mollies in it, lots of water to add some more.

Nice tank!

24X12X18 = 5184 cubic inches. 1 gallon = 231 cubic inches.
So you have a 22.5 Gallon tank.

Water is 8.33 pounds per gallon, so the water weighs ~185 pounds.

I do as well. You were smart enough to leave lots of room between the rows, which means pulling the sockets is easier and you can see them.
