I don't think so because in a 914 the turbo is going to be in the rear anyway.
Now, if you want to mount the turbo up front, that's another story.

You would be money ahead to either build more HP into your engine, do an engine swap, or be happy with what you have.
Erik, all options cost $$.
My turbo 914 project is 930 based.

a great idea, however be cautious about what scavenger pump is supplied or required, most of the research i have done indicates expensive pumps that can handle high temperatures, being cheap on the pump will cost big dollars.
