Sorry, I am in the middle of writing a report for quantum physics. I was looking for anything to take a break! So far I wrote more in this post then the whole essay....

Love all these cars!

This time I had to go with Parker's (clow) black date mobile. From what he had to what he now has in a year and a bit is fantastic! I hope Parker inspires more guys his age to get into cars like these. Thanks to him there is one less coffee-canned Honda blatting through eastern Ontario.

But there's only one car in the running for which I'd give vital parts of my anatomy. BadM gets my vote. Hope to see that one in person someday.

Please dont get me wrong I love my car BUT!!!!! Oh my god, that green on Sawtooths car is one of the best. For going outside the standard colors and the beautiful job he is doing, he gets my vote! I still love my signal orange. Badm.

It has to be very close. I know he is bringing it to WCR next week. I don't know for sure but would bet it is driveable now. It is flipping gorgeous

Sawtooths car got my vote for sure. The work he has done is great. The Subaru engine and transaxle converison was finished a couple of months ago and then he completly took the car apart and installed the steel flares and did the paint all of this in a couple of months.

I had to vote for Clow, Sawtooths is pretty nice, but is an unfinished product. plus I have to give it to this guy for his courage and dedication to save this teener at his age.

Back in 78, I was 18 and did all my own maintenance on my 71 and also installed a 2.4 liter four banger out of a 2.0, with no Internet just the Haynes manual, but a complete restoration is pretty amazing!!

I voted for clow. He made a pile of new 914 fans out of his best friend, his uncle, his dad, his prom date...and probably her dad too.

Cool, thanks for the nomination guys! Honored just to be considered for COTM. My car is back on the road, about 95% complete. Drove it to the alignment shop this morning, forgot how much fun it is to drive. Took the shop owner for a drive, a 914 guy himself, and had a blast. I'll be continuing to burn the midnight oil to get the last few things wrapped up in time for WCR. I'll post some update pics in the next couple of days.

Hard to pick just one. All those are awesome examples of love for the 914.

I look at it this way: An 18 year old gets a car has a tight budget and tight time table. Kid is done and didnt spend tens of thousands on it and doing most of the work himself. My vote the kid.

Great turn out this month, but I've gotta vote for Sawtooth on this one. Not only does he really step up when people misplace rear calipers, his car is so ridiculously clean while still being original and different. This is the level of car I hope mine is at when complete!

The kids are my heroes but my vote goes to my buddy JRust. He has been working on his so long that it has re-rusted.

I find it hard to choose (usually) and feel bad for the cars I didn't vote for (often) since they are all so awesome.

I read that once nominated, a car cannot be re-nominated later (I think that's the rule ... ?).

Perhaps World will put a time expiration on that so that cars can compete again later on after some time period has expired. I understand the rule (so we don't get bogged down with the same cars over and over again), but then again there are some GREAT cars that have been hard to pass up though they've been up against some great competition. In my opinion, those cars deserve to compete again after a couple months. Just a $0.02 worth to consider.

Having said that, I voted for "clow" this time 'cos once I read the thread and greatly admired the kid's gumption, will, and flat-out desire to pull together a really decent car with such a limited budget as well as a serious time constraint ... well, as a professional engineer I just couldn't NOT vote for that.

I mean, if that isn't true engineering spirit, then I don't know what is. Awesome stuff.

because i don't see this cotm as a beauty contest but more a recognition of a members efforts, build quality, tenacity, accomplishment, one or more of these is reason to be nominated for cotm.

Not True, I just put in the Rule that any car that was in the Previous Month's Contest is not Eligible in the next. A while back we had cars that were nominated back to back to back. I just want to keep it Fresh and save Jon Bovey some humiliation

Personally, I try to humiliate Jon every chance I get. He does the same for me. I find myself looking around for garbage cans every time someone points a damned camera at my car!

After reading the Clow thread there's no way I could vote any other way, even though he's from Canadia.

I stand corrected. I do remember Jon's car setting some sort of record these past few months ... sorta like the Buffalo Bills in the 90s.

You are confuzzeling this with the rule that a previous winning car can't be nominated again.

I had to vote for the kid. He is less than half my age and worlds ahead of me in know-how.

Not to mention, he showed up about 75% of this board by getting his car on the road by his original deadline!

I thought we were supposed to invade Canada not the other way around.
