When I was in HS (late 70's) I saw a 914 V8 conversion and knew one day I would have one. We grew up on the poor side of the street and now in my late 40's I was able to make a HS dream come true.

So, I am curious what these cars sold for new. I am sure I could look it up on the internet but I would rather ask you guys. Now that I have been involved with the 914, I am also curious how much a 914-6 sold for back in the day brand new.

back in 1969/70 the 914 1.7 was at $ 3,595 and the 914-6 at $ 5,999

Jeff Bowlsby has actual window stickers & dealer invoices from all years at the link below, which also shows the costs of options FYI.

It's interesting to see how fast the prices escalated back then due to the Dollar to Deutche Mark value escalation ($ losing), where by 73 the then new 914-2.0 ("914 S") cost as much as what the 70 914-6 came out at in just 3 years, and by 75-76 they were more than a 70-71 911T! blink.gif
