Do they confirm my mech's assessment that the longs appear to be very solid?

IMHO - You'd best check behind those jack posts/supports & at the surface rust on the forward p-side (can't see front of d-side) before you pass a final judgement on them. Then fix whatever you find now so you don't end up with them holed later.

Thanks , Tom. I did address the surface rust on the P-side, and the existing holes behind the jack posts. For some reason, the rust was vastly on P side. That's why fewer pic's on d side.
