Yesterday I went to the annual bavarian 914 meeting in the Munich area.
As usual it was a very nice event, unfortunately with heavy rain in the evening.
This year we had less participants and teeners - but: Chris (hdcmueller) and his wife joined the party. NICE TO MEET YOU !!!

Some nice cars! looks like a good time.

Love the lederhosen. Used to wear those as a Schuhplattler in our high school German club many years ago.
Is the red & white checks pattern traditional Bavarian? Never saw that before.

don't know if it's traditional Bavarian
Bavaria's colours are blue and white

but I do know that it's often used together with Lederhosen

Saturday was a great time. A lot of friendly people, good beer and good food. It was great to meet some 914 people. Thankfully everyone spoke English. Then on Sunday my wife and I made a quick stop in Munich to wander around and check out some random festival. More good food before a long drive home.

Gustl, It was great to meet you too. Hopefully I can get the 914 down to Austria for some mountain roads.

((My home town here in u.s.a. in new ulm, Minnesota - sister city to ulm germany- have had many an octoberfest! )
Anyway - plan on coming over sometime to do some family research. Dad's cousins were Mueller, Webber and Wagner, also Pietz and Tschirley.

Bavarians know how to enjoy life.

Used to spend summer there in the mid 90's.

Those two must drive a 71 with the smooth perforated leather seat inserts, and the rough leather Lederhosen helps hold them in place!
