I am in the process of swapping out my original engine with a 2056 engine with dual webers I got rebuilt from Schantz MD. The transmission shifted ok but when I took apart the shift cover it was full of transmission fluid. There was also a big metal piece of metal in the fluid that I drained. I am now wondering if I should rebuild it while everything is out. Here are the other questions I have.

1. Is there a reliable place in So. Cal I can take it to?
2. What is the typical cost to rebuild a transmission?

Thanks in advance for all the advice.

Ship it to Dr Evil, he'll rebuild it for you, maybe less than a shop.
