Full Version: Cable shifter set up

I rode the fence on whether to go with this J West set up or the cable shifter. From the way it appears and what the mechanic is telling me, this set up may leave some gray area. Might probably been better suited for the stock one, rather than the Subie set up. We decided to pull the plug on it, rather than keep plowing and dumping more $ into it when it looks like it may not be any better off in the end. Trial and error. He suggested a cable set up would probably have been better. I thought about going that route, but how do you know? I asked questions pertain to both set ups and had pros and cons for both. I'll probably try and sell the parts and maybe get the one set up I seen on http://cableshift.com/914/914%20page.html

Any better ideas other than Cableshift.com to use?

Know of anyone off hand that may be interested in the parts that I will be taking back off?

I know at one point McMark from Original Customs was working on a cable shifter setup for the 901 but i don't know how far he got with that.
