I'll guess that you took your time to make sure the letters were properly lined up and equally spaced.

Just did the same thing last week! James Smith was here and he had a good laugh when I confessed to doing a dummy. The speed nuts will come off if you are careful and you can reuse them if they are the ones I bought which are the ones from Pelican, try and save as much of the gooey stuff as possible and stick it back in where it came from.

They are the '70-'71 aluminum ones Plated gold. I'm not too worried about breaking the letters (shouldn't happen) It's just a shame about the push-nuts

I wish it was that E-Z dry.gif but that ain't going to work. Using a thin strong knife blade, a small flat bade screwdriver and pliers I was able to remove the nuts without destroying them. biggrin.gif Now to check twice (maybe three times) and put them on correctly rolleyes.gif

Joe McDonald (nice guy, grew up just a few miles from me) had nothing to do with that song. The credits are obscure, but it looks like Elliot Ingber wrote the music and Stash Wagner wrote the words. Ingber was associated with a number of VERY significant bands, including The Mothers of Invention, The Fraternity of Man, Captain Beefheart, and was loosely connected with Little Feat. The 60s, I was there, but I don't remember much of the second half ................
