Just sent cert check for my 'new' '76 2.0; has somewhat new (20k miles ago) Euro P/L kit installed, but not sure if any head work done.....so:

What seems to be the main cause of #3 failure?

Would it be worth pulling the heads and doing a pro-active valve / guide job considering the P/L have only 20k miles on them (assuming everything else checks out o.k.)? Of course at some point J Raby will get my motor but until then.....

Thanks!

Does it have a failure now??

HEAT! Is the cause of #3 failing, and thats not the fault of the cooling system! Its all about tuning, and that WONDERFUL (insert sarcasm) camshaft the factory installed....

Unless you know the builder and exactly what was done (have the blueprints) and know what parts were used- don't trust it..

I'd say drive it till it drops, then do it right-once....
