is what he is saying true ? are the early 911 rear rotors the same as the 914-6 ?(69-73)

pre '69 911 solid rear disk is: 901.352.401.10

[EDIT -- ETKA doesn't either say that. the /6 part # is really 901.352.401.18 and i confused it (it was late...) with the 914.4 part on the next line, which is 914.352.401.10...

Well, those are the ones I am using on my 914 rear. Solid 911 rear rotors, I had Porterfield racing cross drill them for me. They even fit under the stock caliper. I was worried I had to modify the caliper or have the rotors turned down, but they fit fine.

my neibor gary emory has a container full of rotors.the 912 i got the front of of was a 69.sounds like i need to back and get the rear rotors of it too. if there any good.can you tell me if the numbers match for the 912 as well ?art ?anyone

i can tell you what i know, and for some of the rest, you'll probably need to do some legwork on your own. OTOH - Gary Emory has forgotten more about Porsches than i've ever known, so if you've got such a resource in your neighborhood, go take advantage. if you learn something from him that's different from anything i've posted here, please let me know - i learn something new about all this stuff every day ...

911/912 rear disk 65->68: 901.352.401.10
911T/912 rear disk 69: 901.352.401.17
914.6 rear disk 901.352.401.18

so these numbers match the application data shown, zB, on the Pelican Parts website. and yes - i mis-read the 914.6 rotor part number in that earlier post (sorry, it was late...) and i'll go post an edit to that message to that effect ...

what's the difference, really? (dimensionally?) - i have no idea.
if all 3 disks are still available (actually, i think i saw that '69 disk is NLA...) but they have different part numbers, they're probably different is some respect,

all my original 914.6 solid disks are long gone, so i'm not in a position to make any comparisons, or take any measurements ...

sorry if i misled anyone with the bum part number earlier ...

One thing for sure, the 914/6 rotor does not have a brake drum as do the 911/912 parts. I do have new 914/6 rotors if measurements are needed.
