Anyone know of a torque spec. for the head studs? Not to install the heads, but to install the studs into the case. None of my books list one. I suppose I will just put them in damn tight w/red locktite. the spec when installing the heads is only 26 and I know they get much tighter once the engine is warm so around 50 (hand tight) should be safe but if anyone has heard an actual # for this, letta brotha no.

i suspect that spec is shown in the factory workshop manuals. before i go dig through everything to find where i've stored mine, you might mention what kind of engine you're working with -- 1,7; 1,8; 2,0; /6; Chevy, Ford ...

I don't know if there is a spec for the head studs, some of the studs might go right though the case. Put them in so the shoulder is below the mating surface and use a good dab of locktite.

If they can be torqued I doubt if it will be any more than a head nut.
