what do these digital ignition boxes accomplish? i can get one new for 159.99.
is it worth it on a /4 2.0l w/ webers?

yes, do a search.
better starting, idling, low to mid range power and you get a soft rev limiter that doesn't need pills. (different resistors for different rpm's)

also, I don't think that price is anything special.
