As many know, I'm getting the 914-6 Steel-Top (914-6ST for short) back and will be getting it painted, since it really needs it.

The Original Color was Ancona Blue which is nice, But I been exploring other Blues. I have had Olympic, Minierva, Cobalt & Diamond Blues, so I don't want to go back there. I don't mind a Color Change as the car is a Conversion and has many Mods besides the Steel Top

If it is going to be a blue.....no contest for me. It would be Adriatic Blue. Love that color.

Dalmation blue all the way. One of my personal favorites. You don't need the metal flake frills to dress up that car.

+1 for dalmation unless you want to go with chrome trim and bumpers, then prussian.

I like that Ancona but I am really liking the Dalmation. Need more pics of blue #3 to solidify my decision though.

Dalmation Blue - beautiful choice. On my Irish Green car (colour changed from Light Ivory) the other I almost went with was the old 356 Bali Blue.

Never been a fan of metalics on a 914, I think that dalmatian blue looks amazing!

I always like Olympia blue, a very cool 70s color but thats me....I voted for #1 which I like best but they are all nice colors....also a nice blue mettalic is cool too

+1 on the Bahama Blue. Polish the rims and spokes on the wheels.

Voted Ancona. I think the lighter, brighter blues (like the Ancona or Bahama) work great with the black bumpers and trim. I'd think chrome trim would work on the darker blues (like the Dalmation).

But thats just my worthless opinion..

#3, solid colors look best on 914's in my opinion. That current color was a mistake made about 13 years ago anyway. Body shop called me up saying they screwed up the color, but it looked cool. Wanted me to come down and see if I wanted them to re-shoot the car. When I got there, shurgged my shoulders and said "Looks cool". Been that color ever since.

My vote is #3, change it up, solid colors with flares look good!

Whatever color you choose, lose the trim strip at the base of the sail panel. There is such a nice sculpture line there that emerges without the trim.

Seeing that picture makes me want to punch the PO for painting mine Black...it was Bali Blue.

BTW cool to see the hard-top 914 going to a good home, I'd LOVE to have that car...very cool.
