I have a 73 2.0 4, all original except for fatter tires and an updated stereo, need a new injector, will a 75-76 injector work?

Yes

What is the difference? I noticed in my confirmation e-mail from AA that I was getting the 75-76 injector, I thought maybe I ordered it wrong, if it doesn't matter then I will just use it as I am not driving the car right now because of the leaking injector. We only have so much summer where I live and I hate to lose the warm days!

The difference would be in the flow rate in lbs/hr, cc/min, etc
'75 - '76 Bosch Injector was/is a 0 280 150 038 - 400cc @ 3 bar
'73 - '74 Bosch Injector was/is a 0 280 150 019 - 406cc @ 3 bar
'75 - '76 914 had a smog pump & catalytic converter and were made to run leaner than the earlier ones.
Oops, found some info & noted above. I feel better now!

Mine are green and the pictures in the AA website show them as green, but the 75-76 one has an A at the end of the part number.

Better send it back and the get the one for a 73, any difference between new and rebuilt other than the price?

.....But yes......have them all the same
(flow rate etc-etc-etc)

019 Injector carries a part number of 039 906 031 (Porsche/VW '72 - '75)
038 Injector carries a part number of 039 906 031 A
The flow figures I quoted are from a rebuilder. Testing them at 3 bar (44.1 psig) is a bit stiff as the sustem runs at 28 - 30 psig. So the flow rate will be less by 33% at the least, giving a flow at system pressure of 268 for the 038 and 272 for the 019.

What's the flow rate for a 76 912E injector ? I've been told that my 75 L-Jet which has a 2L crank 96mm pistons might run stronger with the 912E injector. Does this sound right ?

So, those with a '75/'76 2.0 who have removed the smog pump and back dated the exhaust system to '73/'74 specs, should use the 019? (except for the CA guys with '76's)

We are talking about a 1.5% difference in flow as rated for a NEW injector.
again, Yes it'll work

According to the chart, they are 188 cc @ 3 bar. 0 280 150 105 as I remember. Looks really lean to me in comparison.

I believe that L-jet squirts each injector twice during a full camshaft revolution, instead of just once like D-jet does.

The numbers quoted are probably from WitchHunter.
BOSH claims that both injectors quoted above
have the same flow rate.
See attached original specification.

Numbers are from WitchHunter & I know the machine they are derived from. Glad you found a chart ... been looking for a long time for kicks as I just use the correct injector for the application. Never looked for "free" power boost as I figure the engineers probably knew what they were doing.
Not smoking or drinking anything ... gave it up again as a lost cause.

Ordered the correct injector, I hope AA doesn't get too upset with me for ordering the wrong one, the only difference was an A at the end of the part number for the 75/76, still my mistake though!
