I am finally going to get a chance to work on my car next week!
I imported it just before Christmas, and it's stored at my Mum's place, and I've only had about five days to play with it since then, in two visits. I'm going for a week, with nothing to do but work on the 914!
Here's a list of what I hope to get done in the week:
Replace vinyl on the dash
Fit a new windscreen (from the porsche centre Melbourne - six days from Germany to Australia!!) and find a rear view mirror (Long story... car was towed backwards with an open roof latch... so no windscreen!)
Fit new chrome trims for the windscreen
Convert the front indicators to euro style and fit new lenses
Fit the euro rear lenses
New headlights
Fit a matching pair of side mirrors, temporarily till I find an original mirror for the right side
Fix the sheared hinge pin in the front boot (trunk)
Remove the side markers and fill the holes
Fill the trim holes in the sail panels
Do as much bodywork as I can, and prime it
Tidy up the interior
Adjust the valves - it's been three and a half years... I hope I remember how!
Change the oil
Get an unregistered vehicle permit, and go for a drive!!!
Cheers,
Rick
