My parts left Boise for delivery this morming at 0600 so I should be rebuilding the cluster after dinner tonight. The Pelican article says I need white lithium grease. I have several tubes of lithium grease but it's black. Now I'm not prejudice or anything but is there a reason why I can't use the black grease that I already have?

i used Swepco black moly grease; i prefer moly greases on metal-to-metal.

i think their only real point is that it shouldn't be a "straight" petroleum grease, but if all i had to use was Mobil-1 grease i wouldn't lose any sleep...
