I made a nifty little C shaped tool and pulled the fan hub with no problem. Managed not to lose the woodruff key. Now, I am scratching my head trying to figure out how to actually extract the old seal without damaging my case. Tried several searches without luck. Anyone?

You didn't say if the engine was in or out.....Try driving a sheet metal screw in it and then you can grab it or use it to pry on

Got it. I used a large screw driver, with a hard piece of plastic between the screwdriver and the case, and pried it out. Took a bit of force, but once it gave, it popped right out.

Engine is out of the car on a stand.

Did you have the shroud off ? is it possible to do by just removing the Impeller?
