....for next year.

Them boys are thrashing around trying to "revitalize" the Prepared classes, F/P amongst them.

Thus far, nothing is set in stone, but the latest is a change in their basic thinking. Rather than the present jumble of engine size to car, they are smiplifing it to engine size to weight. 2 valve motors would be .75 X displacement = minimum weight. A 914 with a 2.7L (that would be me biggrin.gif )
would be 2050lbs minimum....no word on twin plugging. 4 valve motors would have a multiplier of .78.

This is their second proprosal. The first one really stunk......you don't wanna know. barf.gif

we don't really get protested in vintage, but in groups like production, how do they check displacement?

Does a racer who is just there for a regional race potentially have to allow his motor to be opened up? What happens if you decline the inspection?

IF you trophy at a National Tour event or the Nationals your car goes to the impound for a legality check. Dunno exactly what they do in there.

JP, keep at it and maybe someday you'll be good/fast/lucky enough to find out!

There are ways to measure the volumn of an engine. I know some of the circle treack guys use a device that fills the chamber/cylinder with air, then that volumn of air is measured.
