I have a noise that sounds like its coming from the right rear. Its a noise that sounds like a high pitch pulsating car alarm, only not so loud. It starts about 15 mph and continues till its drowned out by my exhaust noise. It doesn't get louder and doesn't change pitch. The pulsating doesn't seem to change speed much with mph. It still present with clutch in and coasting so I believe its in the rotating part of the wheel. CV's have been replaced on that side. The wheel bearing was slightly loose but has since been properly tightened. Could the bearing have been ruined by the looseness?

All opinions welcome (I'll throw them out if I don't like them. LOL).

Thanks.

Thats how my Jeep wheel bearing went, same style bearings more or less. Couldn't tell till I got the hub off and spun it by hand. And it was 15 MPH as well.

I would have to bet on the wheel bearing.

How do you do that? There is no means or method for tightening a rear bearing. They go in and the nut gets torqued to 220lbft. If you meant that your stub axle was loose, this "may" have damaged the bearing.

Yes Eric, the stub axle was a bit loose. I retorqued it. Sounds like new bearing time
