I rebuilt one head. A valve seat was totally gone. Had another head, put it in, running nicely.

But now getting little power sucking coughs like little backfires. Had a leaky exhaust, but fixed it. Still dome coughs when I throttle.

Thoughts?

Valves are set correctly?

I set them yest to spec. Had a tough time getting tdc. But am pretty sure I got that. I have been thinking they may have slipped. Like I didn't go tight enough. ?

What'll happen if they are off & I'm driving?

If it's popping on accel, you are probably getting a lean misfire.

Turned out a stud holding one of the rocker arms had broken! Also I had adjusted for basic not hydraulic lifts. Thanks to Dougs Bugs & Bunnies in Phoenix for this help. Thy let me use their parking lot to work and helped tons on a satuday afternoon
Now onto the bigger issue at the moment.

I'm stuck in another parking lot with one cylinder of. Can't get the cylinder back on over the rings, they won't compress enough. Starting a new thread.
