Now that I'm married (recent development) and have a little one on the way.. it's time to grow up from the batchelor ski-mobile..... (which I bought 3 months before the WRX came out (dammit)).

So we upgraded to the Legacy GT Wagon. It's still in the run-in period, so we're not taking it above 4k. Jeesus it's fast though - 250HP STi motor. It's a turboed 2.5 litre engine. The engine from the japanese version of this car is what's going in my 914. Terrifying.

Nice Fiid
I am seriously leaning toward a Subbie. I don't buy new cars but they have an awesome lease deal coming up soon... or so I am told

The Baja Turbo looks interesting. Isn't it rated lower in HP than the Legacy GT despite having practically the same engine? I think they must be concerned about taking away sales from the WRX/Sti. I don't think the Baja as a model is selling very well. Make sure Subaru isn't about to discontinue it before you buy one. What about a Forrester XT?

I wonder if the lower HP comes from setting them up for low end torque. The legacy's and Bajas are a little heavier than the Impreza.
I'm not sure if you'd be able get a used Baja Turbo - Isn't that a new model for 2005?
With subaru you typically have the opposite problem - their range gets better over time - the problem is they might have something better next month that was not announced at the time you bought your car (Which is how I ended up with a 2.5RS instead of a WRX. When I bought it it was top of the line - within 6 months it was the bottom end model.).
