Here goes,

I'll take the old stuff off now.
By morning it should be done.

Old:
Jeroen
Is it me or are you stalling to get busy biggrin.gif

cheers,

Jeroen

Here is the painted LE dam and 1/4" thick x 6" tall rubber strip I will use.

Very durable rubber from the suction head of a street sweeper.

Finished pics to follow.

Yes, I'm stalling. cool_shades.gif

How rigid is that rubber? I made a dam for my car using some 3" conveyor belting.. I think it needs to be more rigid. Its clears the ground by about 2" and scrapes under heavy braking....
Trekkor
Tim, this rubber is very rigid. It will stand up on it's own...Like my dirty laundry. w00t.gif

The old stuff is off now.

Air tools are guud wub.gif

KT
Trekkor
Don't go up steep hills.
Trekkor
BTW Tim, that air dam is exactly what I really want.

Where can I get?

Here's the ridgid shot.
Trekkor
Here's something the PO unknowingly taught me.

Duct tape your bones to minimize frustration.
Esp when working alone.

KT
TimT
The air damn on my car is a IMSA dam, I think AIR or Getty make them
McMark
Trekkor, I don't think that's the air dam you were talking to me about yesterday.
Aaron Cox
dude... what are you doing with the old one?
lemme know.
would be a great addition to my car..... (i'd fix it)

oh..btw. i love my azenis's too!

one bad thing bout the falkens...

jeff (jenny's bro) said 'dont expect more than 6k miles outta them...

crap. theyre on my street car <_<
Trekkor
That's O.K.

That will be about 2 years of driving, at my 200 miles a month.

Had to step out for the evening.

Should I brew some coffee coffee.gif or plink on the board? type.gif

Hmmmm...It is cool out confused24.gif idea.gif

Randal
Unfair Mr. T.

You adding speed equipment after we agreed on a handicap for Alameda.

You're just going to kick my butt, unless I can find something to do to make my car faster.

Of course, only the Shadow KNOWS!

Next thing you'll be doing is BBQ'ing Tri-Tip on Saturday to make us steak eaters weigh more in the PM session.

BTW Mr. T. have you seen the size of the 205 Hoosier AutoX tires? The answer is a second to a second and a half, that's the difference. Unbelievable.
Brad Roberts
Aaron,

Jenny's brother rides a motorcycle.. how would he know ??LOL

They have a 200 treadware rating.. They will last a lot longer than 6kmiles.

And at.. 65-75 a tire... who cares.. CHEAP stick.

poor college student.... biggrin.gif
Brad Roberts
B <<< poor 914 wrench

I feel your pain.

I *might* be able to put brake pads on my truck this month.. it has needed them since Parade July 4th.

B
Trekkor
Oh, I *forgot* to tell you Randal, I put a turbo'd 3.6 in last night. lol2.gif w00t.gif

Trekkor
Still fooling around with this thing
cha914
Trekkor,

Looks good, where did you score the rubber?

Aaron,

I have the falkens on my 90 BMW 325 daily driver...clocked about 10K+ on them already and still have about half tread left. And I have met a guy with an accura that got 28K out of his set and that was autoxing every month.

My bmw is a good 700lbs heavier than a teener, so you should get a solid 20K outa them if not more...unless you start tracking them...

They are defin the next tires that are going on the teener...

turbo'd 3.6

We all like competition, so bring it on!!!!

BTW I saw a complete 3.2 with LSD and all the nice pieces last night. It would bolt right into your car. All anyone needs to do is to call Brad and bring money.

You missed my comment about the tires, but I guess with a 3.6 you'll need monster slicks like Bill.

Actually I heard Bill is going to put duelies on the back to keep the power down. He's worried about the body panels, but you can lend him the ones off your truck. monkeydance.gif
Trekkor
Yow!!!

After some sleep, I've decided that power isn't important.

I'll be putting the motor from one of those " pocket motorcycles " in my car. Save on gas money$$$

What class would I run in? boldblue.gif

O.K. , so I need more sleep. <_<

Trekkor
Trekkor
Here's the finished product.

Help me think of a name.
Trekkor
Mocked up.

Notice I can still clear a brick

I'll mount it *sometime* <_<
Aaron Cox
we shall call him "snowplow" .... biggrin.gif

looks good.... pop rivets equally spaced.....A+ job.
hope it works
Trekkor
Thanks, I actually went "Top Shelf".

Those fasteners are hex head metrics with washers and lock nuts. wacko.gif

Trekkor
red914
you could call it an "air damitall." it looks cool. will the improved aerodynamics help the pocket motorcycle engine push you faster?
McMark
My vote is for Betty.
maf914
Hey, nice work Trekkor. Those fasteners look like the studs on the black leather the Harley guys like. Maybe everyone will start calling you "stud". Nahh, probably not! Looks like you're stuck with Betty! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
Trekkor
I need a better name. wacko.gif .

I'll use four across the front and one on each side.
I'll need to weld on some mount plates for proper fitment. welder.gif

I'll be sweeping streets in no time... lol2.gif

KT
TimT
Where can I get this street sweeper rubber?
jdogg
agree.gif
Trekkor
Call Tom Lutz at :
Sweeper Sales
530-795-9860

I saw him today and told him my 914 crowd might want to buy rubber by the foot.

Ask about various sizes and thicknesses for your application.

He ships daily.

Tell him I sent you wink.gif
