Still have to sort thru the over 2500 3200 pics I shot but here is a teaser. Only two 914s ran the autocross but I have some great photos of those two plus some video from Bob Saville's runs in Huey that I will post in the next couple days.
Autocross videos. If you click the top one to start it and wait just a split second to start the bottom video, they will be very close to in sync for the first 30 seconds or so. Enjoy!
Thanks, Mark. Was using a Canon 75-300 IS. Shot ISO100 at 5.6 with the camera selecting the shutter speed - usually around 1/250. I was disappointed in how many shots were out of focus. That particular lens does not have a very speedy autofocus. Maybe I should have turned the IS on

Definitely turn the IS on. It will only help, especially with how slow the cars get in the turns where you are not panning much.
My 150 - 500 is pretty slow, especially on closing or take away shots. My only cure is to pre-focus close to where I plan to take the shot, and I pick 2-3 spots I try to get per car. I also tend to shoot more shutter priority, around the same speed you were using, 1/200 - 1/320.
I think autocross is one of the most difficult track events to shoot. Big grey parking lots and trying to shoot one car at multiple speeds and locations during a single run. Good stuff! Keep em coming!

Thanks for posting and taking the pictures and videos Steve.
so...how do you get the video's to embed in the post, and not just be a link?
<---- btw, the cool poster of Huey in my sig was done by Steve too!!
For reference, Jeff with Mellow Yellow got FTD with 86.0, I got second with Huey with a clean 87.1. The second video above I got a 86.2, but hit that last cone.
We were the only two in the 80's....
