I finally adjusted my valves. Did the oil cooler seals and changed the oil while I was down there. Anyway, when I put everything back together and started it up, it ran like crap! The idle was way off and after I warmed it up and shut it off, it wouldn't start. I loosened the distributor and turned it to a position where the engine started and then turned down the idle and set timing and idle to specs. The car runs better than ever now and is VERY quiet. The valves make a light ticking noise and the exhaust even sounds better. I was shocked at the improvement especially because I didn't think that the car was running all that poorly before. I checked the clearance before I did any adjustments and the ran anywhere from .006 to .014. I never knew that out of spec valves could be compensated for by retarding the timing though. confused24.gif
