Dang it I was gonna say , be careful the aftermarket wedge bolts seem brittle,
Hammer the wedge bolt in and snug the nut,

...any of us here who have broken off a single bolt on a 40 year old ride knows your pain.

And, we all know that it's much more likely that each of us have probably broken much than a single item on these cars mad.gif

I've personally enjoyed relearning all my long forgotten head bolt removal skills barf.gif

The lights really help but it's mostly 3 weeks of vacation.

I pheasant hunt until noon and work on the car until my wife and kids come home. I think this is the last year she's going to let me get away with it. slap.gif

The torque spec in most of the repair manuals have the wrong number. IIRC it's only 13-16 ft lbs

At least you didn't do that with your heat exchanger on a freshly rebuilt head. Then drill a hole for the extractor. Only to have the extractor break in that same hole. mad.gif You got off easy

Actually it would be a good investment. It would have saved me $20 so far. What's the best one out there?

Are the parts were galvanized?

We had the same issue with zinc plated flywheel bolts.
