Hammer the wedge bolt in and snug the nut,

The torque spec in most of the repair manuals have the wrong number. IIRC it's only 13-16 ft lbs

At least you didn't do that with your heat exchanger on a freshly rebuilt head. Then drill a hole for the extractor. Only to have the extractor break in that same hole. You got off easy

We had the same issue with zinc plated flywheel bolts.
