This engine did not have any stamped numbers. Just this blue dyed number.

Check top of the case near the other end, right under the plenum, passenger side

Could also be a remanufactured motor...factor did that

check in the 1.7/1.8 location.

Looks like an OEM "replacement or rebuilt" block. They were supposed to stamp that location with a special replacement block ID using steel punch letters. If neither of the other location have the punched #s, then check out the Pelican archives on how to read this.
