Has anyone found a good alternative to the stock fog lights? I would like to find something that fits the stock grill, but is better than buying an old rusty set of stockers. Any suggestions from someone who's BTDT??? This is for a car that did not have stock fogs, but I have a set of stock fog grills.

Thanks!
Qarl
I found 55 watt halogen bulbs that will fit in the stock housing!

One place that I found that makes them... in England.

They have the special Ba20S bayonet mount.

I did the same thing as Karl. With new lenses and paint, they look great.

I've heard of some people using Ford Mustang GT fog lights
(late 90's I think)

Also, a few people have been selling kits to replace the lights with clear lens driving lights (the lights are supposedly aircraft landing lights)

I too will be looking for an upgrade on my car once it is up and running.

I have a set of these that I am putting on my car (it had no fogs originally).

I bought my car from this guy (Eli Pitta) and got the fogs with it.

The Pilots will fit so nicely and they just plug right in. Also saw a ad on Tirerack.com for some Hella lites that have black lenses or reflectors when turned off, looked cool havent seen them in person, I think by the spec sheet they may be to large to fit easily in the space you are given.

A couple of little things about my Pilot light install:

1/ The factory grommets were on my existing wiring, so I removed the cheap Pilot light grommets and re-drilled (and moved over) the holes larger for the factory grommets. I then had to re-paint the housing.

2/ I put connectors on the pilot lights (inside) so not to damage/cut the factory wiring connectors. I like to try to keep my factory wiring as intact as possible.

I still have to aim my lights better, when you get that far this will help:

Have fun, Mark

P.S. the Pilot light's were $69 Canadian, I think they are about $45 USD.

Oh!

You also need a factory fog switch, it just looks better.

In a pinch the rear window defroster switch is the exact same switch, just the little plastic symbol insert on the knob is different.

Plus you 'might' need one of the round relays, my '74 already had one.

Then Demicks Pilot light page now has the wiring upgrades.
