I was wondering if it is possible to use the stock shift rod with the Subie EJ20 engine?
Just eyeballing it, it appears that three things may be touch and go as far as in the road?
1. Tin on header-can it be removed
2. Drivers side of oil pan-be trimmed
3. Tubing on engine cradle
I was thinking on the places where it is a close encounter if a person could splice in a piece of rod with a smaller diameter that would give a bit more clearance if needed, like a reducer?
On the engine cradle tube in the rear, I was wondering if it is in the road if a person could roll a piece of tubing like a 1/2 moon and splice it in the area where the shift rod would come through at for clearance if needed, like an arch. It appears as though it would just clear the drivers side engine mount?
I don't recall if the stock shift rod is straight or has a curvature to it?
