I received my latest bag of bits from 914 rubber. 3 days from over there to over here. Normally 3 weeks!
The fuel line has been re routed and now enters the engine bay via the original hole. The alternator has a new loom. The fresh air box has a new seal.
I now have a wobbly wheel on the rear! Going to need a bigger power bar.

Installed a vehicle immobilizer: hidden fuel pump kill switch. Not flatbed proof, but when parked with the top off an ounce more protection.
Beware cheap plastic toggle switches, they can’t handle the current over time. Bought a 32 AMP switch at NAPA. Pictures posted on the dark web. Muahaha

Fixed a couple of scorched wires following the fire.
Re planned the fuel lines for the above engine area and tried to tighten up the rear axle nut to stop the play in the bearing. No joy, i need a more powerful bar to pull it in.
Fitted the new frunk cable supplied by 914 rubber. Superb quality and glad that this niggle is sorted.

Cleaned the goo from the windshield channel. Next is to give it a light sand and primer before installing my new Sekurit glass. The cats aren't digging the mineral spirits smell in the garage so I kicked them out for a while. Not like they're going to freeze at night with lows in the 50s.

Spent two days so far with solvent, scrapers and brushes removing forty years of grime under the car and from the engine compartment while the engine is out. Pleasantly surprised how good it is. Floor was replaced somewhere in its past. Will prime and undercoat shortly.

yes it is! all re plated parts including the rail which you cants see here very well are from Bruce Stone- my newly repainted fan housing should be here any day and I can start putting all the new stuff back on the motor - the only thing I have not done is send in my throttle body to have it rebuilt by our member here that is doing this, but I really should - its not cheap but worth it I have heard.

Not the 914 but for those with non original 6s, am replacing the CIS with EFI and Triumph triples ITBs run by Megasquirt on my 3.0. Shouldn’t increase the horses but provide much better throttle response and flatter torque up to red line. Probably will squeeze a couple extra MPG if I can keep my foot out of it, but what’s the fun in that? Work being done by X-Faktory Mt Vernon, Wa.
If it works as well as anticipated, then will do the same for the teener.

Passenger side seat track (floor pan clip) for the '70 Ghia was delivered today
Blasted it at shop class this evening - will commence final wash/dry and primer this w/e.
Once I get the Ghia's seats installed (making it a truly driveable car), I'll think about getting back to work on the 'BB' -

I took the car out of the garage yesterday. Weather was more than fine. Wiped off the dust, hoovered the carpet and seats. Then I started the car. It ran flawlessly!
My plan: taking it out for a spin this afternoon. But guess what: yesterday evening the weather turned and there's now 2 inches of snow all around.
So... it's still in the garage, waiting for better times and roads without salt.

Yesterday I installed thermal insulators between the Weber carbs and PMO intakes. I ran the car up toward Peyson AZ then shut it down to see the differential between the two metal intake components.
The numbers are these.
When running at idle after a good run:
Cylinder 1:
108.8 at the intake and 84.3 at the carb body
#2. 106.6 / 88.3
3. 111.3 /93.1
4. 108.8/83.5
5. 110.4/85.1
6. 109.1/88.1
18 to 25 degree difference between carb body and intakes. An improvement to be sure. But not a solution to hot idle.
More boring detail after tomorrow and a run up the mountain.

Yeppers, it's a Rad Mini. I've been busy on another project (or two), so haven't put more than a few miles on the fat bike yet - however, when the electric motor kicks in, one can definitely feel it (nothing like a 930 Turbo though)
Still waiting for the stem cells to do their trick. Got the injections in late December and the doctor said it would take a few to several month to realize any benefits ... been seeing my chiropractor as well, and feeling fairly well. I just try not to do anything real strenuous yet. Thanks for asking.

The electric motor greatly extends the range and helps a lot going up hills. It has a 7-gear cassette, but I can already see that I need a larger front sprocket. The highest gearing is 42t ~ 11t.
I doubt I could fit enough solar to provide an effective charge, the battery is 48 volts, 14Ah.
