Nothing.
i'm almost ready to maybe sell it.
i checked the suspension height on the front, no adjustment needed. i do need to get alignment done though.
i finally fitted the crank breather kit and tidied up some wires in the engine bay, adjusted the clutch. I tried to wax it this morning but the wax was like cement so i polished it instead.
Then, i drove it
i am going to put it up for sale but not sure i can let it go. love the little thing. sticks to the road like
to a blanket.

Spent the day chasing an oil leak on my Diesel 914.... think maybe I found it. Might need to pull the engine back out to change a camshaft seal. Wanted to wait until the car was parked for the winter to go through the engine....

Actually took a few minutes to work on my own car. After driving my 914 at last Sunday's autocross in the rain. It was time to do a little tuning on my roof. First observation, early roof on late car.
One of the problems that arise when you have
inventory.
I didn't take a before shot, but it was way off center. By sliding both silentblocs all the way to right. I get a much nicer and tighter fit on the side windows.

inventory and find the correct late roof. LOL.

@cary I was just speaking with Bruce Stone yesterday. There are a few things that get changed out when mixing tops. I had no idea before. On my '70, apparently I need to buy a different set of rear latches and change out/remove or "something" to do with blocks which make the roof a tight squeeze, if not done. Hopefully
@bdstone914 will chime in here regarding this insight.

the new speakers arrived today and i finally fitted the last of my 914 rubber parts stash, new speaker pods. i now have tunes.
i got stuck under the dashboard
found a hairline crack in the paint next to the passenger door latch. the paint is a bit thick so that's been rubbed back and is now in primer.
lastly i started to remove the excess compound residue that's in some nooks and crannies. that is like cement!! veggy oil didn't soften it. panel wipe didn't touch it. currently have gt85 soaking into it.

Ended up with another Rennshifter - thanks to T.C. I didn’t want to loose height on the lever and I hate the crush washer install so I grabbed the correct thread stainless bolt, JB welded the head into the knob and slid on a stainless washer to support the knob against the lever. Not as light as it once was but I bought it for looks and comfort. Just have to polish the lever and I’m done my 5 minute project.

@mepstein what was the thread size in the rennshift lever?
I want to do the same thing. Threads look like they are fine instead of coarse.

I had purchased 3 knobs from Zach and one came with threaded rod already installed for my existing rennshifter. I think it was aluminum to keep it light - great detail, but I ordered the other two this way so I could modify to suit any shift lever, like the one on my cableshofter or the Miata lever on my Suby conversion. I should have bought more knobs...

i painted the underside rear of the roof to finish it off. I also touched up a couple of chips and the door hinge bolt heads to tidy up & protect the a pillar area.
i need to figure out why my roof sits too high at the back and set up some kind of headlight alivnment marks on my garage door so that i have a target to adjust the headlights to. oh and find a couple of blanks for the interior padded parts.
also put the topcoat on the passenger door latch area. will let it cure overnight before i blend it in.

took car out for a test run last night, making sure new brake light switch was working- and to get some starbucks. noticed that the clutch cable and accelerator cable are interfering slightly with each other. didn't have time to get my scope in there to look at it right now but maybe Saturday. Cant have that rubbing like that. Hard to get to though, with the center console in place. Finally will get to first C&C with this car in almost a year on Saturday! forecast is for possible rain, I hope it holds off, we are finally getting some cooler weather though , well, atleast not 90!

You guys make me look bad! I replaced the front and rear brakes (thank you PMB Performance) I replaced the exhaust (thank you Triad) I replaced all the bushing in the transmission linkage (thank you Pelican Parts) I ordered but did not install the Precision Shift (thank you Tangerine). The radio will be replaced on Tuesday (thank you Best Buy). I fixed a lot of small niggely things (thank you everyone at 914world). The drivers side passenger window fell off the track today (in the rain) so that will be my weeks end project. I would like to rebuild my inoperable horn this weeks end. I'd like to get some drone pictures if the weather is good but I am in Wisconsin so I expect anything from sun to rain to snow at any time.
