Got pictures of my new tires on my RS finished wheels and posted them. Thanks Eric @PMB
O, I love the way they look and the tires have a little rim guard so no rim scraping. 7 and 8s

A good friend milled Delrin bushings to replace the plastic ones from Elephant Racing for my front sway bar. I buttoned it all back together and am looking forward to getting it out on the road.

Moved it into the house....
Click to view attachmentsince it came out of storage and all through its restoration the teener has lived in the shed. after moving the Cayman to offsite storage for a couple months the 914 is in the integral garage for the first time EVER.
This in preparation for the trunk hinge repair. and removing the engine for the third time in 13 months.

I am getting pretty good at removing the engine.

Got tired of waiting for replacement fender liner brackets so I made my own out of aluminum flat bar The nice thing with DIY is that you can custom fab the brackets to minimize gaps. I also went overboard and created four heavy plastic pieces which filled in the gaps where Marks design allowed debris to collect in the rockers.

Has there ever been a better group buy than Oscar's bumper re-chrome deal?
I picked my front bumper up today and installed it. I think I'm going to roll out a sleeping bag in the garage tonight and sleep next to it......
Oh, and I used the 914 Rubber spacers between the rubber top and the bumper. A much better fit!

This bumper had the front (rectangular) license plate holder holes that were never pushed out at the factory.
He filled them in on the front before he chromed it.

The chroming process smoothed out the seams of the unpushed license plate blanks...I think this is a pretty rare unmolested bumper.
Came out excellent.

Installed a third brake light. They're LED's and quite bright. OLAF also added the light as there sold in pairs. Took 1 and a half hours to install. Hid the wire in the butyl that holds the back window. Spliced into the harness in the rear trunk. Can't even tell this isn't a factory job. Now if only I can find a rain shield for the LED strip - or do I even bother.

I bought an extra combo gauge after reconditioning the electronic speedo and the rev. counter.
Now there is a complete extra cluster for the car and I’ll keep the original in this display.

Not really anything done TO my 914, but I finally added the VINs to the database.
http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?&am...mp;byUser=21432 Surprised to see that a PO already added the VIN of my DD when it was still in their ownership in California. That must've been at least 6 years ago because that's when the car was exported to The Netherlands.

I have said numerous times that rain doesn't touch my car.
I lied.
Today I went and ripped around in it. While it's not really raining hard, it's very wet outside. These cars love the cool fresh air and with a bit of dampness I broke it loose a bit.
I'll never grow up.
