Whilst looking at a 911 I'm interested in buying, I saw this thing and bought it cheap. I might adapt it to fit my ski racks somehow.

It is chrome, just dirty. Four specific fit type clamps.

Anybody know what it fits? It looks German; Mercedes wagon?

Just finished my display with the original instruments.
I bought an extra combo gauge after reconditioning the electronic speedo and the rev. counter.
Now there is a complete extra cluster for the car and I’ll keep the original in this display.

Very nice

Started it, wamred it up, turned it off. Then wished I had more time to fix the brakes.

Dumped half the res. of brake fluid on the floor of the carport for no apparent reason. Right off the master cylinder. Figure its the stupid hard lines from the res. They were a !@#!@ to get in.....or was it just me?

Not you alone - me too,,,,,,,the installation of a 914 MC is an absolute pain. On another post I was told by one of the 20+ year members that you HAVE to have the washers in the MC or it will not work right or bleed right or anything right......washers, WHAT WASHERS! Turns out that there are indeed washers and that the OEM people provided EVERYTHING but the washers.......sigh.

They sit UNDER the rubber thingies that the two plastic lines are inserted into.

For some reason, my steering wheel has seemed loose lately, so I took the hockey puck off and it was surprisingly loose.

Weird, maybe I forgot to cinch it up last time I had the wheel off?

I drove my 914 to work today. 23 degrees out and the moisture from my breath was freezing to the inside of the windshield for the first 10 minutes (it builds character).

I just had the panel between the tail lights straightened and painted. Installed a new 914rubber.com bumper top and my spare bumper while I wait for my original early style bumper to be straightened and rechromed. Haven’t driven the car much since August and was excited to have it back on the road tonight. driving.gif

The cracks at the edge of my rear spoiler had been slowly growing over the years.
Recently the one side jumped to almost a foot long. It was finally time to take action.
I did not have the nerve plus I knew the Tony would enjoy molesting Elvira.

I am not sure if I am going to add a spoiler back again. If I do it will probably be the same style. (Suggestions are welcome.)
It will be bolted on and not glassed in.

Michael your car is looking great. Did you send your rear bumper, the original, to Oscar on the bumper group buy? All you have to do is look at how nice the bumpers Oscar is painting look and you know that the level of detail he brings to everything. Perfect place to hang your front bumper Ben!

John, my rear spoiler has wider flanges, originally had about 20 screws to hold it on,On my CF lid I used 3m tape and made some little extra insurance clips, no holes drilled in lid . 1 on each front corner and 3 across the back,,

I would do the same spoiler - but bolt on instead. Why mess with the good looks of the original build!

@VegasRacer , Hey John, I just went thru this last weekend. Give me a holler when you get ready to bolt it on. I can save you a few hours and probably have most of the SS hardware to do another one. Originally, I used Tinnerman washers but they looked kind of cheesy. kent beerchug.gif

Mike, stand the strut upright, spray some PB Blaster into it and try again in a day or two. You may need to apply some heat to the housing if the Blaster doesn't do the trick.
