I think I'm done. smile.gif Actually, it's more like starting over. driving.gif

9 months ago Elvira went in for a motor rebuild. After that, the 'while I'm in there . . .' phenomenon took over. It started with a restored speedometer. Then new battery, tires, brake rotors and pads. Replaced throttle, clutch and speedo cables. Cleaned, tightened or lubed everything I could get my hands on, etc. Not to mention removing the rear wing and replacing the front air dam. Pretty much anything I could find to do that needed love or money.

For the final step, I hired someone to detail the car. Wow. She has never looked or ran so excellent.

In honor of the occasion, I stumbled across this hoodie on eBay. beerchug.gif

I had a PC925 in the 'BB' for several years. Then when I took it off the road in mid 2015, the battery sat unused until mid 2018. I thought it'd be a gonner, but a quick charge with a Battery Tender and it sprang right back to life aktion035.gif

I recently purchased a PC925 from an ebay vendor for 'HOWARD' (our '71) - for good price too smile.gif

I had the same problem but, fortunately, it wasn't a real difficult fix. The hardest part was reforming the panel sent to us by Restoration Design. I have a 75 and the panel is really made for an earlier car.

http://www.2002and914.com/?page_id=743

It just took a little finesse, a bench vise, a round steel bar about 14 inches long and a body hammer.

Giving a shout out to PMB Performance for the excellent job redoing my front trunk.
I had a front oil cooler
installed more than 15 years ago, people that installed the cooler cut big rectangle holes in the fender wells to vent hot air, looked like crap. PMB filled in the holes, installed a new cooler, rerouted the ss oil lines. Mounting a space saver spare.

The front trunk looks amazing...Thank You PMB

I blocked up the front foil about 2" off the floor just to see it. In the picture the foil is tilted at 10°. I like it and will try to get it to sit 3" off the ground mounted on the car. I have ordered 4" wheels and will put them on the pivot point for the foil. They should keep the nose off the ground. I have a color in mind and may paint the foil before mounting it.

Assembled my steering column today with the 914 rubber clam shells and the switches I got from Mark Epstein.

For some reason the right stalk is very very close to the steering wheel.. No idea why. Click to view attachment

Do you have 911 switches and not 914/6 switches?

The 914/6 switch levers are flatter and are closer to perpendicular to the column. They are shorter and don't have the double curve of later model 911 levers. The lever functions are sticker graphics on the clam shells, not the lever ends.

Compare yours to the pictures below.

The first picture is a salvaged steering column assembly from a 1971 914/6, VIN 9141430335.

Picture 2 shows the straight levers and the function graphics on the clam shells.

Have to wait to drop the front suspension I'll keep going forward with the wing.
